** FOR YOUR INFORMATION **

At Wesley Road Methodist Church, Trowbridge, there is a new system regarding parking in the club car park opposite.

We can still use it but when drivers get to the church they need to register their car.  Key pads are available there to do so.

OUR FRAGILE PLANET

The Blue Planet, Blue God conference is for anybody concerned with the well-being of our planet and oceans.

After the acclaimed Blue Planet 2 series on television, we are delighted to have Prof Meric Srokosz and Dr Rebecca Watson with us. Their book Blue Planet, Blue God offers a fresh lens through which to look at the Bible. We will be helped to look at the theme of caring for our planet of which 71% is sea and of how this fits with our understanding of scripture. The conference takes place from Wednesday 11th to Friday 13th September and costs £169 for a single room, £307.00 for a double room and £81 for non-residential (day delegates).

Keynote speakers are Prof Meric Srokosz and Dr Rebecca Watson authors of the book ‘Blue Planet, Blue God; The bible and the sea’ SCM Press 2017. Meric Srokosz is professor of physical oceanography at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC), Southampton (www.noc.ac.uk) and a former Associate Director of the Faraday Institute for Science and Religion (2012-2015) Rebecca Watson has a DPhil examining occurrences of the theme of 'chaos' in the Psalter. Her first post was as a Lecturer in Biblical Studies at what is now the University of Cumbria. She is an affiliated lecturer of the University of Cambridge.

LIVING WITH DEMENTIA

Living with Dementia – Creating Dementia inclusive churches and worship.

To be held 9.30 a.m. - 4.30 p.m. on November 2nd 2019 at a cost of £30 to include refreshments and a two course cooked lunch. The day will aim to increase our understanding and awareness of Dementia in order to help churches respond positively both pastorally and in our worship life. The day will combine input, practical support and some workshop time. We are fortunate to have Rev Dr Rodger Charlton Professor of Undergraduate Primary Care Education at Leicester University Medical School and Rev Mhari McLintock the West Midlands Synod Advocate for Dementia Friendly Churches joining college staff to present the day.
